USB PENDRIVE -AN ALTERNATIVE FOR RAM IN WINDOWS

You might have been familiar with Windows Vista ReadyBoost. But Windows 7 has improved the capabilities of ReadyBoost over Windows Vista. Vista offers support for only one Ready boost device,which can be of Maximum 4GB in size. But Windows 7 supports maximum of 8 ReadyBoost Devices of maximum size 32GB each. Totally 256GB, can you think a PC with 256GB RAM. Windows 7 provides support for this facility.

You may think,"why can't i use my traditional hard disk for this purpose?". No you can't.. because the RAM stores and accesses data from USB drives faster than your traditional hard disk. PCs ,which are using SSD(Solid State drives) doesn't need this method to speed up the performance, because USB & SSD are having the same speed of processing. Now let us see the steps to configure The ReadyBoost

• The Pendrive must be of formatted with exFAT or NTFS
• Go to Computer ,right click on the USB Drive or SD (secure digital) memory card and select Properties
• Then select  ReadyBoost & Click on Use this device
• Then increase the "Space to reserve for system speed" 
• Now click on Apply, That's all....Enjoy the higher performance of your PC
